What is a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Medicare Part D)?
Medicare Part D, also called the Medicare prescription drug benefit, is a United States federal-government program to subsidize the costs of prescription drugs and prescription drug insurance premiums for Medicare beneficiaries.
Each year during the Annual Enrollment Period, Medicare beneficiaries are able to enroll in or change their Medicare Advantage Plan.
A Medicare Prescription Drug Plan only covers medications and does not have medical benefits.
